In the aftermath of the Milan derby both striker and Rossoneri Coach commented on the number 99’s far-from-flaky performance.

The hostile reception from estranged Internazionale fans didn’t seem to fluster Ronaldo despite the player being seen by the Inter faithful as a traitor.

Extremists believe that the Fenômeno has completely blackened out his 1997-2002 stint with the Nerazzurri with his Rossoneri ‘betrayal’.

"For me it was just another game”, explained the striker whose cup-eared appeal for applause/boos after he scored the first goal would suggest otherwise. 

“It’s just another classic derby that I’ve played and I’ve played quite a few in different countries”, he added. “I was happy to score the goal…but that’s it.  I celebrate normally, just like the others who scored", stressed Ronaldo.

"We were better in the first half but the whole team lost strength in the second. As far as I’m concerned we’re paying for the extra effort against Celtic", he justified, citing the classification that eluded Inter against Valencia.

Ancelotti was pleased with the Brazilian’s showing and underlined that he’ll be even better next season.  “Ronaldo will back to his best next season and will be a key piece in our strategy”, explained the tactician during a radio interview.

“He was sidelined with injuries and internal club problems for almost six months and therefore can’t be expected to be at his peak condition right now”, explained the AC Milan Coach.
 
“What I must stress is that it’s great to see Ronaldo so motivated…he’s working like few others right now and he’s a unique talent whose progress has only not been even more meteoric because of injury problems”, concluded the happy tactician.
